Error: Sequence error reading initial allocation list
This problem is due to a defective personalization disk or a memory conflict caused by “Terminate and Stay Resident” programs (TSRs) or device drivers.
The solution is to first clean boot the computer (without TSRs or device drivers) and run the installation again. If the error recurs, contact your Authorized Autodesk Dealer for a replacement for the personalization disk.
If the error occurs at the time AutoCAD starts up, it is most likely caused by a faulty installation. To resolve this problem, perform a clean reinstallation:
Uninstall the program and prepare for a “clean” reinstall (see related solution for specific steps).
Do hard disk diagnostics by using SCANDISK or some other DOS utility to check for problems, such as lost clusters.
Reinstall the program.
Ensure that you reinstall the program into a named directory rather than the root of the drive (for example, C:Program Filesautocad 2000, not C: ).
If this reinstall does not get resolve the problem, install in safe mode.
If the error continues to recur, contact your Authorized Autodesk Dealer or Support Representative for further assistance. -
